SPLIT DECISION, FINDING FIXES

Trav, Travvy/Travee depending on if you're Ethan or Ace -- really it sounds the same, guys.
• • FULL NAME , Travis Robert Covington
• • NICKNAMES ,
• • BIRTHDAY & AGE , January 13, 1988, which would make him 21 and legal.
• • SEXUALITY , Straight, tyvm. Or I guess gay, if you're Ethan or Ace, heheh.
• • OCCUPATION , Lead vocalist & rhythm guitarist for Pushing April.

I SEE FACES BUT NONE OF THEM

Different shades of brown, light to dark depending what time of year or what he feels like.
• • WEIGHT & HEIGHT , 158 lbs. Height, an even 6'0 -- fuck you Ethan, you're not that much taller.
• • HAIR COLOR ,
• • EYE COLOR , Brown.
• • DISTINGUISHING MARKS , Nothing really -- well, this is not really a mark but his eyes and all the silly faces he makes are pretty distinguishing. Other than that, nothing special.
• • FACE CLAIM , Who's face are you taking? If it's a MySpace/DeviantArt/whatever person, give us their link.
• • PERSONAL STYLE , Travis can be a girl at heart. Seriously, he's real self-conscious of his hair and how it looks. That's basically the one thing about him that he freaks out about. Style-wise, he's pretty plain and simple. Plaid shirts are his current favorite thing -- couple that with his skinny fitted jeans and he's all set. Did I mention he can wear both girls and guys' clothes? Yeah, he's actually proud of that. But anyway, regular clothes are great, he likes all that stuff you could get at American Apparel and most definitely GK. You can catch him rockin' his hoodies too; yeah, he looks better in them than Ethan does. Accessory-wise, he wears a silver key necklace around his neck almost all the time -- Lindsey has one identical to his. He enjoys aviators a lot but most of all Travis is famous for his beanies and his hats, and even more famous for his bandanas. Even though that was a phase in high school, Ethan won't forget it, and to this day even if they graduated over three years ago he still wears them from time to time to piss his best friend off.

Ethan's lame failjokes, guilt, crazy fangirls, Ethan having sex in his room or in his car or anywhere in his personal space, long airplane flights, being hungover, losing, being really wrong, strong perfumes or cologne, mismatching, being miserable when he's "on a break" when it's his fault that it happens in the first place, when Ethan is closer to girls that he's dated/dating -- it doesn't very happen often but yeah, when people stare at him for an absurdly long amount of time, people who don't like his significant others without even knowing her/his history, anyone who doesn't like any of his friends' significant others when they don't know them, people who try to fuck with Ethan or any of his friends just to get back at him (Travis), people who fuck with his friends in general, bright flashes, Myspace whore train bulletins that he seems to see a lot when he logs on, stupid lies, bullshit reasons for things, being yelled at, being treated like shit, being caught in traffic, epic failing, having deja vu, crappy rainy days, things that are really oily, being sick, extreme heat or extreme cold, breaking strings on his guitars, Monday mornings, when people shit talk him and when they see him don't have the balls to actually say something even if he knows already, being just a little shorter than Ethan, being grounded by Ethan's mom, his own mom maybe liking Ethan or any of his friends better than him, girls who take advantage of the fact he's nice and actually has a working conscience, being guilted into doing things, crazy girls who like him for his position in his band, people who only like his band because they're cute, being the reason why shit goes wrong in his friends' lives (usually it's his fault when something happens to Ethan, god), being disrespected, cold weather, total ignorance, traffic, sitting behind a desk, staying put, being stuck at home, superficial people, girls who think they're skinny but really aren't (yeah, it's shallow, but what can you do)
• • LIKES , blondes (really, he's dated a lot of them), love and loving Lindsey, Delaware, his mom, his basement (good times), his family, Pushing April, playing guitar and making music, being older than Ethan even if it's only by months, spooning with Ethan onr, having better hair than Ethan, singing better than Ethan, Ethan ahahahahaha, churros because of Levi, drinking and being drunk, parties parties parties, anything to do with music in general, his guitars, singing better than a lot of people he knows, playing shows, seeing the world, hats and beanies, making kind of stupid decisions onr, abbreviations and caps/ether abuse when he's talking online, his Macbook, Twitter and any social networking site (he's an internet whore), watching CNN, Past Twelve Records and a lot of the people associated with it, being in the band, having the best friends ever, friends, loyalty, energy drinks, making out, pretty girls, having a tight group of friends, little kids, freedom, travelling, coffee, driving, cuddling, watching movies, Wall-E, shameless flirting -- really, it's only natural, taking naps, giving Aceblowjobscuddles, abusing the shit out of Photobooth, going on Stickam, watching Youtube videos with Ace, Italian food, wasting time, stalling, going to the river, goofing off, giving girls flowers, attempting to set his friends up with each other, being annoying sometimes, failing at playing drums only not really, being supportive towards anyone that's close to him, loving people, his closest friends, wine, the outdoors, lying down and cuddling, buying gifts for people, parties, dressing up in a suit or at least a vest and a tie, acoustic songs, candids that are funny, taking pictures, sleeping, his dogs Georgina and Max (even though Max is at home with his mom), being a mama's boy, running, taking naps, pretending he's gay with Ethan, cereal at any time of the day, driving around aimlessly, going back home, going to other countries, touring, meeting new people, being sweet, teasing his friends, spamming his Twitter with updates, making people laugh, yelling, running around, going to the park, being crazy
• • DISLIKES ,
• • STRENGTHS , giving hugs, playing guitar (he's really good okay, ngl), singing, writing songs, writing and doing awesome harmonies and stuff, being a good friend, being a good listener/shoulder to cry on, taking himself out of a situation unless it's really personal or involving someone really close to him, ignoring and dismissing annoying people, giving people the benefit of the doubt, being serious when he needs to be, being able to be nice even if he can't take it, putting up with people's shit -- he has a high tolerance, going through his basement window back at home/sneaking
• • WEAKNESSES , any of his friends, his mother, Lindsey )<, some ex-girlfriends or ex-hookups only on the fact that he still tries to be friends with them, the promise or opportunity for fun and/or more success with the band, good alcohol, puppy-dog eyes, girls who aren't just pretty faces, his sister Allie, Emily just becuase she can make him feel bad without even trying, new music, furry animals, free things, his heart being more open than it should be because it just makes him make the wrong/non-logical decision, dogs
• • FEARS , not being the best person and friend he can be, failing at life/the band after choosing not to go to college (aka regretting not going to Columbia), losing his mom or just having anything bad in general happen to her, Ethan never talking to him again, losing his friends, true rejection and loneliness, dying in general, crashing into a concrete pillar or tree or something, needles and sharp objects
• • SECRETS , He's madly in love with Ethan. Oh wait, that's not a secret nor is it true. ONLY NOT REALLY. Well. Anyway. He's hooked up with every member of his band, hooked up being defined as making out and anything before going all the way. So yeah, gayness. But he's never done anything majorly homo, except with Ace. But really, who doesn't know that PA has at least messed around with each other when they're drunk? He's cheated on every girlfriend he's had, in order to be with his ex-girlfriend Lindsey -- it's one of those things that'll always be complicated and it always happens unintentionally. Failtravis.
• • PERSONALITY , Oh Travis, what can we say about him? Often outspoken and pretty opinionated, Travis' brutal honesty either makes people consider him a good friend, or a prick - he'll tell you if he doesn't like you or if you are pissing him off. He would rather be known for his talents and crazy fun attitude rather than just the fact that he has a very sweet and sensitive side - but even then, he can't deny his sweetness and unnatural happiness and calm around other people. It's just natural. He's one of those guys that you don't quite get when you first meet them, and at some points, you really wonder if you'll ever understand him because of his mixed signals in addition to the fact that he is...well, pretty energetic. Sometimes he may give a weird or bad vibe with his first impression, but if you wait around and watch he'll have no problem making you fall hard for him. He's also known for his charm and ability to make people laugh - even if it meant either making fun of or humiliating himself, and he's the one who would crack insane little jokes here and there to break awkwardness if he had to. Everyone thinks he and Ethan are gay because of the way they act with each other no matter who's around, but they're basically brothers -- the only reason why they do it is because they think it's hilarious, and they really are very close. The two of them are the dynamic duo; him and Ace are at a close second though.
Behind the funny-laced sarcasm there is the part that will be there for his best friends no matter what. He's pretty damn loyal, and he'd never screw one of his good friends over intentionally -- even if he did, he'd feel absolutely horrible about it. One other thing to know about Travis - he really really hates when people try to get him to talk to them and open up when he's unwilling to, which contributes to the foundation of his cautious personal side. Naggers are not cool to him - if he wants to tell you something, he'll do it on his own. That whole thing makes him hypocritical, because he's been recently prone to annoying his friends to do things like go out with each other or get a girl/boyfriend, anything of that nature -- but anyway. He doesn't always need a girlfriend, or anything like that. All he wants is his friends and happiness -- if he's got those friends, he's set in life, in addition to his blooming career with the band. With his sensitive cautious side, it makes him reluctant to let most people see this side of him because he thinks that they may take advantage of or hurt him, and in that sense he's secretly paranoid. Although he doesn't admit it, he -is- sensitive. He can be misleading with his charm, and when people get too close he then starts to push them away, sometimes letting his emotions get the best of him. He really can get pretty passionate or emotional over something, and when anything bad is going to happen he may freak out and have a breakdown over it. Sometimes he thinks he's bipolar because he does have cases of mood swings, but it's usually because of stress or a worry that he just hasn't told anyone and lets it build up inside. But watch out for angry Travis, if he's set off he'll definitely go and rip you apart if he's pushed that much.
Relationship-wise, Travis is a boy that your mother would love -- sweet, caring, attentive. Too bad that he always seems to date girls that fail. He's actually not that big of a heartbreaker; in truth, the girls he's dated had screwed him over first and any of his other significant others have just liked him because of his position or trying to get with his friends. So, all but one of his prior girlfriends have screwed him over in some form and not in a good way, so he's kind of given up on relationships for the time being. Then again, every time he says that, he always ends up being in one three weeks later. When he's single he's known to be kind of a one-night stand person due to his raging hormones that every boy has. He thinks he's a better guy than most - since at least he admits his basic and most obvious flaws. But otherwise, he's pretty good at getting the girl by making a move or two... and then when something happens, it happens, but ends up being nothing - and ultimately, he knows he needs to settle down, because the other person has to work her way to his heart, too. He's not scared of committment or that he might cheat on whoever he's with ever, he was raised right and he'd never do that to a girl no matter how they treated him. In truth, his fear of committment was only ever rational because never had a relationship with a girl who's actually genuinely liked him back or reciprocated his feelings. However, there's one exception to this rule, and that's one of his ex-girlfriends, Lindsey. Basically, Travis needs to man up and stop being afraid.
A few other things about Travis, he: makes silly faces or the peace sign all.the.freaking.time, can be overly enthusiastic, likes running his hand through his hair and brushing it to the side, taps his fingers a lot when he's nervous, wears emo glasses when he doesnt even need them, freaks out when he doesnt have his keys clipped to his jeans, paces when he's got nothing else to do, is guilty of always drunk singing, is prone to drunk washing of his phone because he thinks that it's dirty, poses really weird for pictures, talks in caps when he's excited (or just in general), loves making fun of his friends out of love, and has caps abuse whenever he talks to his friends.

Allison "Allie" Covington, 5, step-sister via his father. Travis loves her more than any other girl in the world, aside from his mom and maybe Lindsey. But really, his sister is his girl -- he calls her Princess Allie all the time 'cause that's what she is to him.
• • PARENTS , Mother; Melanie "Mel" Covington, maiden name Walker, 44, accountant. Father; Richard Covington, 44, lawyer.
• • SIBLINGS ,
• • OTHER FAMILY , Lisa Hanover (stepmom, 36), Jake Emerson (mom's fiance, 42). Ethan's basically his brother, and so are Levi and Ace -- they're all basically brothers, seriously. And the guys and girls in Pushing April's crew are basically his family too...well, I suppose most of them.
• • SIGNIFICANT OTHERS , Lindsey Silverstein, girlfriend of forever really, or at least since middle school.• • CHILDREN , ---
• • BIRTH PLACE , Newark, DE
• • HISTORY , Travis was raised in a good environment -- he had no siblings growing up, unless you counted Ethan as his sibling. So, he was spoiled by his mom/taught how to be nice to everyone, especially girls. His parents divorced when he was 11 and he didn't take that too well, and he didn't take it well either when his dad got remarried when he was a junior in high school. Junior year was a rough one for Travis even if he's a nice guy and can't really hate anyone -- amongst all other drama that happened that year that just comes with the pressure of being a year away from going to college and graduating (it was hard enough that he was an honors & AP student, probably the only one out of his immediate friends that gave a shit about school), he just didn't like his dad's girlfriend only on the principal that he was on his mom's side and felt like she was a replacement. But he worked through that and he's alright with her, especially since his dad had a daughter with his new wife -- having been an only child with his best friends to call his brothers, Travis loves his step-sister so much, and Allie loves him even more than he does her, simply because she misses him now that her brother's band has always been out on tour and they now all live in Las Vegas of lately. As for his mom, Mel had known Jake Emerson for a while, and when Travis was nineteen she started seriously seeing him. Of course, Travis was happy for his mom and supported her in her relationship -- Jake was a nice guy, and his mom deserved that. A little over a year later, they became engaged and are set to get married in October.
Other than his family life, Travis has a second family in his band, not to mention his fellow band members' parents and families. Growing up in a 3 foot radius of your best friends works its wonders. He has been bffz with the guys forever, so don't mess with them or the people in the crew. His inner circle basically includes Ethan (duh), Ace, Levi, Emily, and of course Lindsey; they've all known each other for life, more or less, and are all from the same town/went to the same high school, etc. Ethan is his absolute best friend, his gay lover but not really -- it's just a joke, they're not gay, but they are like each other's brothers because they both don't have siblings. But yeah, the band and the crew, they were all meant to be together and with each other -- you see it in the relationships between Ethan and Emily and he and Lindsey, and though Garrett isn't part of the Delaware crew, he makes Ace ridiculously happy so it's all perfect, right? Correct! And what about Travis? Well, since forever and a day ago (okay, really, in middle school, but starting in first grade) Travis has always been with Lindsey Silverstein, someone he could safely call his other half. On and off whenever they were together and even when they weren't together, Travis is basically a fool for her. With their relationship have spanned over about 7 years -- just as long as Ethan and Emily's, except nothing in comparison to that -- there's always been a reason, a choice to be made that kept them apart. It's always complicated between the two, with him unable to be tied down sometimes and his wish for freedom getting the best of him, though the significance of their key necklaces is that he loves her first no matter what.
Now almost twenty-two, his focus still hasn't shifted from the band or his friends and family -- he's currently with Lindsey, his mom is getting married, his band is dropping their third album in August and is currently on tour. So the sum of Travis' life story = being homosexual friends with Ethan, being in love, being in a band all the time, and being stupid all the time.

_________________________________________
Was this supposed to happen? Probably not, but it did. Somehow, Travis Covington had ended up with Zeppelin Caesar again. Again, because way back when, back in the early days of kindergarten and all that jazz, he had asked her to be his girlfriend. Back then, he remembered being in the playground during recess, standing a few feet away but closing the distance as he observed her. Zeppi, with her pretty brown hair in braids as she sat on the bench near the swings watching Emily and Ethan fight over why it wasn't okay to throw dirt and stuff -- Travis thought she was pretty even when he was a shy five-year-old. Sure, Zeppi kind of bullied him a bit because he was kind of also a pansy back then, but still. The girl was one of his best friends, and she was Emily's best friend -- with Ethan going after Emily, it would have been perfect for the four best friends to go out with each other. Ethan and Emily, Travis and Zeppi. The trouble-making group of kids, only not really. The whole idea of "best friends should be together" seemed a little bit cliche, but at the same time it also seemed a bit fated to happen. So he had extended a dandylion to her that day, with a shy smile and a shy look on his face and in his brown eyes to match -- none of the girls in their class could really resist Travis, he was just so cute even if he did cry a bit. He asked Zeppi to be his girlfriend, nevermind that they didn't exactly know how the whole concept worked except for kisses and holding hands and being super nice and cute to each other. And she had accepted -- truly, when Travis looked back on his earlier years, that was probably the most vivid and best childhood memory he had.
Thirteen years later, he had no idea that he would still be with her. Because with all the technicalities, they had never ever broken up, merely having forgotten in their childish mentality that they were boyfriend and girlfriend in the first place. But really, Travis didn't know what got into him a week ago, when he was sitting at his computer not doing his AP homework (fuck, blame the senioritis that even a student like him wasn't immune to) and instead spamming Ethan's myspace with gay comments. He didn't know what he was saying in the chat when he was talking to Zeppi and some of their other friends -- nevermind that it didn't help that Ethan was there to be annoying and egg him on with an absurd idea, one of proportions that went back to the fact that Travis and Zeppi had "gone out" in elementary school. His best friend had it in his mind, that thought of "best friends should go out" again -- his long-term relationship with Emily definitely gave him a big head, as if he knew everything there was to know about relationships. But Travis thought about it a lot more lately, through the beginning of their senior year after the subject had been brought up multiple times during his and Ethan's hangouts. Why wouldn't he go out with Zeppi? No real reason. Did he not think that she was pretty enough? Totally not true, he still thought she was gorgeous. What was holding him back then? No real reason, again, other than the fact that it would have been weird. With that answer, Travis had gotten smacked in the head by Ethan -- "wrong answer," was his reasoning, but ever since two weekends ago during a break at band practice, the thought hadn't left his head. For once, Ethan had a good point -- Zeppi was pretty much a girl version of Travis, just as much as Emily was a girl version of Ethan. So why not?
Travis and Zeppi definitely acted like more than friends a lot of the time, but it didn't mean anything. Or at least, he didn't mean for it to? He knew that most of the girls he had gone out with were definitely weary of the eldest Caesar girl, jealous and paranoid that the giggles and hugs and blown kisses that were exchanged between him and Zeppi actually meant something more than their friendship. Really now, if any of them knew Travis as well as they liked to claim, they would have accepted and known by then that there were two things that just happened naturally -- his close friendship and antics with Zeppi, and his slight gayness with Ethan. Regardless of the details, a week ago, he had found himself, once again, asking Zep to be his girlfriend. It was hesitant at first, starting with Ethan's e-pressuring (and they didn't know it through the computer screen, but Travis had almost thrown his calculus textbook out the window as a reaction) followed by banter about boyfriends and girlfriends and how Travis used to kiss her on the cheek in kindergarten. The rest of it was all fuzzy in his memory, but he did remember her saying she would go out with him, because he had replied with a "no seriously, will you?" or something along those lines. Looking back, it was stupid and lame -- he had asked a girl out online and he never did that, it wasn't his style at all. But it was Zeppi so it didn't matter that much to her? Well, whatever. If he wanted to he could have poked his head outside his window and yelled down the block towards her house, but that would've made him look even more stupid. Yeah, nevermind, he'd rather stick with instant messaging than yell it out for the neighbors to gossip about.
Not that anyone wasn't talking about it already. Zeppelin and Travis -- he was cheesy, once his relationship status changed on Facebook and her name was in his AIM profile, people started IMing him in disbelief. He knew that the rest of Newark High School thought it was funny and odd, the default reaction being "No really, Trav, who's your girlfriend" or "You're kidding, right?" -- his mom even laughed at him when he told her at dinner the day it happened. He didn't really see exactly why it was funny. Zeppi and Travis. They were friends, but who said that close friends couldn't go out? A prior friendship was better to have anyway than all the awkwardness that a new random person would have had if you had compared the behaviors in those two kinds of a relationship. At least, that's what Travis believed. His mom already loved Zeppi, his friends were friends with her, they all approved. So why was it funny? Even two weeks in to their rekindled relationship, he was still getting shit for it and it was getting really annoying. Some people even questioned his motives -- what the eff, he DID like Zeppi a lot, and like he had said to all the other countless underclassmen girlfriend hopefuls that had asked him about her, Zeppi could have been his soulmate, she was just that awesome and perfect for him. As Travis eyed the clock in the cafeteria and waited for the last minutes of his lunch hour to fade out into the bell's ring for the next period, he scowled at Nate and rolled his eyes in annoyance as he got another remark about being antsy to see Zeppi. "Shut up, at least she's prettier and more awesome - and prettier - than Olivia," he shot back, finishing putting his jacket on and slinging his backpack over one shoulder. Dodging the crumpled brown paper bag that Nate threw at him in retaliation as he got up from his seat right, he shook his head and started making his way to the door only seconds right before the bell rang. He liked Nate's new girl, she was nice and all but eh, she was just too bland for his friend; or that's what Travis' personal opinion was -- Nate could do a lot better. "Yeah man, if you don't want me to say anything about your girlfriend don't say anything about mine -- see you later." He was a great boyfriend, sweet and caring and attentive; at least Zeppi understood that and was someone that he knew could give him the same affection (even if between the two of them it was weird in the crazy way) in return.
Walking down the hall, the keys on the key clasp hanging from his jeans jingled a lot, and he shoved his hand into his pocket and grabbed his phone -- it was another text from Ethan, nagging for tonight's plans. Friday nights were usually full of group hangouts at the river or bowling or some other shit -- well, it was senior year, and more often than not they all found themselves at Kelley or Dave's house getting shitfaced and then sneaking back into Travis' basement to pass out, but since Zep and Travis were an official couple now, the random (sober) movie late nights at Travis' house between the four best friends weren't as uncomfortable as they were before, if they were uncomfortable. He and Zeppi usually cockblocked Ethan anyway, just for shits and giggles, so going out just meant that when they all hung out together, there would be less cockblocking because Travis would be cuddling with Zeppi instead. After finishing his unhelpful reply of "I don't know, what do you and Em want to do," Travis was finally in front of the classroom that Zeppi had been in while he was in the cafeteria. It was 8th period, about 12:30 in the afternoon, and after AP Calculus, the last period of the day was free. Which meant he could have gone home if he wanted to, finally -- being a senior and having a car was awesome. When she came out the door, he stood up straight from his position of leaning one shoulder against the wall, that trademark Travis smile on his face at the sight of her. The look in his eyes and the way he smiled hadn't changed all through his growing up; sure, he was newly eighteen and no longer five, but he was definitely still a handsome young man, charming and nice to look at with his smile and the way his brown hair fell in front of his eyes.
"Hey," he said in a simple greeting, taking her hand and pulling her closer to kiss her. He wasn't ridiculous with PDA, but he certainly didn't mind being affectionate with whoever his girlfriend was in public. Pulling away, he tucked back a few straying strands of her brown hair before shooting her another smile. He better entwined his fingers with hers as they started to walk together, leading her in the opposite direction of where she was supposed to go. Sure, he was a good boyfriend, but sometimes he just felt mischievous, like now. "Wanna skip your next class? I kind of didn't do my calc homework. But I'll lie and say I have a band lesson or something." Lame, Travis, lame -- she loved to make fun of him for being a music nerd. He looked at her with a sheepish grin as his free hand unclipped his keys from the back rung of his jeans, grasping his car keys and waving them in her face -- he could be funny with her, or at least, she understood the way he acted and how silly he tried (and succeeded, most of the time) to be. And at least she didn't mind a lot of things about him, like being in a band, having practice and hanging out during it if she didn't feel like waiting. She knew who Travis Covington was, better than a lot of people did, with the exception of Ethan. See, she was great. "Ethan wants to hang out later after practice, him and Em and the two of us. But if we're doing that later I'll take you out somewhere now. We'll get food before we go back to my house, maybe?" Yeah. Best boyfriend ever, he knew she didn't mind food, especially if she wasn't paying for it. "Come on, come on. You know you wannaaaaaa."
