SHE'S A BACKSEAT DRIVER A DRAMA PROVIDER
AN INSTANT UPDATE OF THE WORLD
She sang, pulling his blanket off with her one free hand. She thought about all of the girls that had probably spent the night in that very bunk and Madison grimaced -- that was just... what was the point of sleeping with as many girls as possible? It couldn't be that fun, not like virgin Madison would know. Leon probably had twelve illegitimate children running around, all with the same piercing blue eyes and manipulative behavior.
There was nothing Madison enjoyed more than fighting with Leon. Something about the hopes of beating him, of finally proving that not only was she not just a kid but she was also a human being with feelings, not a piece of ass that he could just have... it was a good feeling, fighting for respect. Even though he probably respected her less because she fought so hard... oh well. She couldn't go down without some kind of argument, now could she? Even if that argument happened to be over the internet, the lamest place to fight -ever-. And it was obvious that she was losing any kind of respect she ever had, just because she was being so childish and stupid. She really didn't understand how Leon worked, no matter how much she tried to tell herself that she did. He was one person that she wouldn't be able to manipulate, and that killed her. But then, mid bitch fest, Leon did something nice. What? Leon offered to buy her a new dress? It was true, one of his stupid trashy hoes had taken one of Madison's outfits on the way out of the bus, but it wasn't like it was worth enough for Leon to go out of his way to be a gentleman -- not like she would tell him that, because seeing this side of him was really quite refreshing. And hey, he wanted her to go with him -- she only agreed because she knew she'd end up with some low cut, sparkly, slutty dress that only someone Leon would sleep with would wear. Still, it was kind of nice hearing him say he wanted her to go too, just because it meant he could stand her at least a little bit. Or maybe he just didn't want her whining for the rest of the tour about her favorite red jacket going missing. And he'd buy her food too?
Back home, this would definitely be considered a date. Going shopping, getting dinner... but no, that's not what this was. This was a non-date. Madison still hated him, right? He was an asshole, as she'd stated over and over again. This was just repayment for him having stupid kleptomaniac whores who happened to fancy Madison's clothing choice. Wait, did that mean she dressed like a whore too? No, definitely not. Well, they both signed off and Madison thought about the next day, a day that they all had a day long break from tour. She could make him take her shopping then, most certainly. She didn't sleep much that night, too busy having nightmares about having to live on the streets and what not -- being poor was not a good thing for her, as Leon never failed to remind her. She was used to being able to buy new clothes whenever she wanted to, to living in a flat in LA by herself without having to share a bathroom with a bunch of sweaty guys and Sam Delancey, who took hour long showers nearly daily. She missed baths. And being able to wear a robe around without getting harassed by stupid, sex crazed bassists. She had gotten used to wearing full out pajamas instead of just a giant shirt, she'd really had to adjust her entire life living here. It was hard, but it was getting easier -- and maybe a new dress would be just the reward she deserved, for being a good sport about all of this. Good sport meaning not whining to daddy for more money, that is. Not like he was able to afford to send her anything, hence why she needed this job. God, karma was such an evil, resentful bitch. But to say that she deserved it for her awful attitude and power abuse would be a serious understatement, and she was sort of beginning to see that.
Morning came, and Madison woke up at her average time of ten -- she tried falling asleep again, but the idea of being able to make Leon go into stores and let her try on things was just... too good to wait. She hopped out of bed and headed to the bathroom, taking a quick shower (and using Sam's shampoo and conditioner as payback for using up all of the hot water), running out in a towel to get her clothes and then going back in to change. It seemed that half the band was still asleep, and she didn't want to risk anyone seeing her even half naked around here -- rumors were horrible things. She threw on a yellow tank top and light blue skinny jeans, and then used the hair dryer to get her hair somewhat straight for the day. She brushed her teeth and rinsed for a few minutes with minty fresh mouthwash, a ritual that she had loved ever since she was little -- she loved mint too much. She exited with a slam of the bathroom door, skipping up to Leon's bunk to harass him. She climbed up to his sleeping body and flicked his ear, taking a seat on the bunk next to him. Of course Leon would pick a top bunk... at least she didn't have to sleep under him -- she felt sorry for the poor sap who did. "Get up, you're taking me shopping." She demanded, pushing his shoulder. She leaned over him, trying to get a look at his face -- he was currently facing the wall, so she balanced herself by placing her hands on his arm. "Get up!"
As these techniques seemed to be failing, Madison leaned closer to him, pursing her lips... and then blew air at his face, her minty breath probably assaulting his nostrils. "Lazy lump, wake up!" She shot under her breath, poking his cheek with her index finger. Her stomach grumbled and she realized that she had just wasted a good ten minutes trying to get him up whereas she could have just poured water on him, or found an air horn or something equally as mean. However, he was making a little bit of an effort to be nice, so she might as well try too. "Please?"
